The self- differentiated Leader is equivalent to having an emotional immune system. An emotional triangle is formed from people's discomfort to change or accept changes without trying to change! Leaders should recognize the triangles and the challenge between the team in his organization and even between members.
As a leader, you recognize the triangle that makes you understand the connection between people and friends. And the precise structure of difficulties, it will be better to overcome them.
Here comes Friedman's advice; he tells us about the emotional conversation. When words are often should say without thinking, anxiety levels increase; if not handled correctly, it will cause leadership skills to decrease.
Therefore, Friedman lists strategies that can help you become a differentiated leader rather than one who allows anxiety to take over.
Get Unstuck:- You can disagree with others it would help if you adopt a defined position that reduces anxiety. Levels (Bradwell, 2010) stay connected in a meaningful way with others, and being willing to change is your first step.
Start with the heart:-As a leader who can make a correct dialogue, to make a correct dialogue to make a change in his organization. Making sure the heart is in the right place and staying focused on the right motivation is key to keeping anxiety in a way and leading to success.
Learn to look:-As a leader, learn to see other's points of view, not only your point of view.
Make it safe:-You should keep the crucial conversation safe that needs to not play games like sarcasm or personal attack, no sugarcoat, or pretense.
Master my story:- "Once he has created his emotion. He can act on them or be acted upon by them.... he can dominate them or be hostage to them" (Patterson et al., 2002, P.95).
STATE my path:-Developing the path before the conversation will help you know the truth and stay in the path.
Share your facts:- Tell your story within the facts and listen to others stories.
Explore other paths:- Being honest of telling your point of view and seeing with equal sincerity the point of view of others in the conversation.
Move to action:- To take action as a leader must "decide how to decide"(Patterson et al.,2002, P.178).
