“You can’t teach today the same way you did yesterday to prepare student for tomorrow”

John Dewey

Implementation of blended learning to a second language, this model held by the online learning platform and the traditional teacher delivers content.

It is also a digital literacy, writing and virtual citizenship with a practice of listening/speaking to a target language. The choice of blended learning is very successful for learners who live in the most intensely stimulating period on earth and are receiving information from every platform. Learners whose curiosity comes first and their first tool of learning is asking questions, and practicing through reflection. It is all about a  learner who has a good idea and wants a better idea,  who is creative and innovative, finding blended learning the optimal choice for them.

In this teaching model Teachers are the Guidance, Mentor and Instructor. Teachers’ role in this approach is important to provide  inspiration,  add experience,  expertise,  personalization,  compassion and variety to a class in a way that a computer alone never can do.

Online Blended learners can be successful to be independent,  motivated, and self-disciplined. The flexibility of this blended learning is making the learning attractive. It gives an opportunity for all students to participate in discussion, conversation, memorized reading and writing. In addition to that, most students need time to process information before responding to a question, and bilingual blended learning gives an equal opportunity for every learner. Also, it increases participation and encourages deeper engagement. In addition to providing a comfortable environment for students who are reluctant or shy to speak in the class.

I am Looking to implement this program by  using a core set of web applications such as Gmail, Docs, Spreadsheet…..etc, and these online resources are wonderful because encourage working with partners to generate exciting ideas for lessons,  and help deliver instruction,  reinforce students' classroom,  engage a student in higher-level thinking and it can be anywhere or any time.

Some digital tools that are needed to teach online to help with social presence(live chat),  supportive discourse(Discussion Board) which is called asynchronous and cognitive presence such as(quiz tools).Tools like that will help learners to engage in difficult content, literary theory, and to facilitate their learning of often complex concepts.

Some of the digital tools are helpful with critical vocabulary and abstract ideas. Using three tools tandem online quizzes, online discussion board topics and postings, and a Wiki to facilitate student learning. This layering of tools functioned to enhance student learning of content as well as skills in a rigorous and supportive environment.

A critical learning objective of most literature courses is to increase students' skills in critical reading,  writing,  and thinking while they learn to engage and interpret literature.

Discussion or chat boards develop critical reading and writing skills.

Learners have their language Choice! However,  if you look at second language learner practice and the research into learner engagement,  agency,   choice and voice you'll find that even though the students are doing the work, more often they do not have a choice for a target language. They are simply completing assignments and giving the instructor what they want.

Unfortunately, Learning a second language in a traditional classroom prevents deeper learning. Learning by reflecting through a native speaker or a natural conversation with a slang language  gives  a better learning which makes a connection to the culture.

Using the digital tools that help the learner to connect the world in seconds in any place at any time will help the learner to progress learning effortlessly and enjoy the learning.

We are not going to forget that online also opened up a broader audience for their work and it could see their progress and comment and show their strengths and weaknesses.

Feedforward is the formative process of providing educative(Fink,2013)or forward-looking perspectives(Goldsmith,Hattie.2009)that one uses to improve.

If I use Blended learning with bilingual it will expose easily to the target native language and culture. It will reconnect the people with their mother language! It will enhance and engage the learning with Choice,  Ownership and Voice through authentic learning. These experiences can also be customized to the student’s needs.
