Here is Seth Godin with his great talk about choosing the quality not the quantity in your life and even your education or in what we are working on now in our
e-portfolio/blog.
It is time to think critically and solve problems! It is time to connect Dots not just collect Dots! It is time to make meaningful connection!
If we want to talk about what is the side affect of being a Learner who is collecting not connecting?
What I Learn from this video is when you staying collecting not connecting then you are not prepared for work. Also, you are not going to get paid well! You going to have a low-skilled job. We going to have a generation jobless. In addition to that increasing number of universities and collage's grads who are under
employed -scraping by on low-paid, part time job that don't require a degree.
What is the solution?
Learner should be proactive and create significant learning environment, If we started with student centered approach and purposefully assembled all the key components of effective learning into a significant learning environment we will help student to Learn how to Learn and grow into a people we all hope they will become. Designing e-portfolio for students that will be a showcase for what they are capable of doing, what they have done and it could shows their future employers.
How you build the Learner's conceptual framework?
After watching this video about Dr. Harapuank it gives me a little reassurance about my thinking or my plan in my classroom, it cause me to take a step back and look at my self with constructive criticism and see area of needed improvement that I hadn't notice before. This video help me to think of how to build the Learner's conceptual framework? The most important tips on how to build the learner's conceptual framework is by providing a context for learning,
create the environment where the learner starts to make meaningful connection
and model the Learning process needed to make those connection and mentor the novice in building and expanding their conceptual framework.
So what I Learned is I need to be focused on what needs to be taught instead of getting caught up in all the details. There is still area that can grow because there is always room for growth.
